This experience will focus on Recoleta, Retiro and Palermo.

Explore the contrasting hues of the city of Buenos Aires in this half day outing. First, we’re off to the Recoleta area, an area packed with manors and glamor chosen by Argentina’s Gilded Age wealthiest. After a quick visit to the world renowned Recoleta Cemetery, we’ll stroll through Alvear avenue and the San Martin Square to learn about the life- styles of Argentina’s wealthiest. After visiting Tribunales and seeing the Colon Theatre and the iconic Obelisco, we’ll take a quick stop at the most beautiful bookshop in the world, a palace with a watery secret and finally, we’re off to Palermo to explore the Rose Garden and check out some street art.

• Retiro & Recoleta: Known for French-influenced architecture, aristocratic palaces, and the historic Recoleta Cemetery.

• Palermo: Divided into Soho (trendy boutiques/restaurants) and Hollywood (nightlife), featuring murals, street art, and modern design.

• Puerto Madero: A modern waterfront district featuring renovated red-brick warehouses and the Calatrava-designed Puente de la Mujer.

• Palacio Barolo: Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, this eclectic building is a highlight for architecture enthusiasts.

• Teatro Colon: One of the world's premier opera houses, boasting exquisite European architecture.

• Palacio Pizzurno: A stunning example of educational architecture with intricate carvings.

• Water Company Palace: An ornate Neo-Gothic building representing the city's golden age.

• Modern Design: The MALBA museum, Banco de Londres, and Repsol YPF building showcase modern, concrete, and corporate styles

At 7:00pm a driver will pick you up for a transfer to dinner and a Tango Show, the sensuality and coolness of the whole scene is priceless. When the show ends, a transfer back to the hotel.

Inaugurated in 1890, Café de los Angelitos is a Buenos Aires landmark and a Historic Bar that has witnessed the country’s cultural, political, and social life.

Café de los Angelitos has welcomed figures such as Gardel, along with artists and intellectuals who helped shape its history. Its collection of more than 135 original photographs captures the essence of Buenos Aires life, turning it into a living museum.

The show brings together six internationally acclaimed dance couples, two highly experienced singers, and a live orchestra. With more than twenty artists on stage, each performance becomes a vibrant experience of technique, virtuosity, and emotion.

The Live Orchestra

The orchestra is the soul of the performance. Comprised of piano, bandoneón, guitar, double bass, and violin, it masterfully performs both classic tango hits and contemporary compositions. Its live sound creates an immersive atmosphere, bringing each choreography to life and conveying the intensity of Buenos Aires.

Meet your driver for a 70 km drive to Parque Nacional Los Glaciares.

Arrive at “Bajo de las Sombras” port (located on Route 11, 70 Km from El Calafate), board a ship to cross Lago Rico and descend on the opposite coast, in front of the stunning south face of Glaciar Perito Moreno. Start a 2-hour walk along the coast of the lake through the exuberant Bosque Andino Patagónico.

Closer to the glacier, you will have the crampons, harness and helmet fitted before walking on to the Perito Moreno glacier which has been declared a Word Heritage Site in 1981.

During the 3-hour ice trekking, you will be able to see a variety of typical glacier features, such as deep cracks, blue moulins, huge seracs and turquoise ponds and enjoy a packed lunch while looking out on amazing views. Later, you will return along a path crossing, completing the three-hour walk on the lake coast, moraine, ice and woods.

After this, enjoy the walkways of Glaciar Perito Moreno from where you will have spectacular panoramic view of the glacier and usual afternoon calving.

Late afternoon return to the hotel at El Calafate, where you can choose your dinner location either at the hotel or walk into town and find a spot for dinner.

Departure from El Calafate drive across the Patagonia Steppe, around the shores of the Argentino Lake and the Viedma Lake, two of the biggest lakes in Patagonia, and South America.

Your first stop of the day is on the shores of La Leona river at the abandoned post, located 100 km from El Calafate for a welcome coffee.

Continue to the small town of El Chaltén, check in to your hotel and find a spot for lunch.

Afternoon self-guided 3-hour hike, to get a general idea about the area. We will provide tracks and information about different trails for you to choose from.

Evening briefing with your guide who will brief you about the hiking trails at El Chaltén.

You'll be picked up from your hotel for a 20-minute transfer to the trailhead where you will start a full day hike to Laguna de los Tres, the best place to see the Fitz Roy.

The trail begins near the Río Eléctrico, and finishes at the ridge of the old frontal moraine of the De los Tres Glacier (enormous formation in the shape of an arch that currently contains the lagoon, formed by the action of the advance and subsequent glacial retreat) with an extraordinary view of the lagoon and De los Tres glacier. This is the closest view to the granite wall of Mount Fitz Roy and the surrounding peaks.

From here continue to climb to the Cerro Madsen lookout, adding a climb of 440 metres. Then return on another path, and where the Ñire trees begin to be more and more numerous around the trail will lead to Laguna Capri, that has a small beach that is perfect for a rest before continuing down to El Chaltén. After a full day hiking, return on foot to your hotel.

After freshening up, walk out and find dinner at a local restaurant. Your Chaltén guide will provide suggestions.

After breakfast, depart on a trail to the Pliegue Tumbado Mountain following an ascending slope of approximately 1100 metres, to the viewpoint located at about 1500 metres above sea level.

Due to its height, the absence of trees and the total exposure to the wind, you should go prepared with a windproof jacket and warm clothes since a small snowfall is not uncommon even in the middle of summer.

First walk though open steppe, then forest and finally pure rocky path to the summit.

Return along the same path, evening at the hotel.
